The prevalence of psychological symptoms among college students is increasingly recognized as a pressing public health concern globally. Recent research has delved into the complex relationship between dietary habits, physical activity, and mental well-being, particularly within unique populations such as Tibetan college students living in high-altitude regions of China.
This cross-sectional study investigates the association between soy product consumption, the duration of physical exercise, and the presence of psychological symptoms among these students. The findings suggest that regular consumption of soy products, known for their nutritional benefits, may have a positive impact on mental health. Additionally, engaging in physical exercise for extended periods appears to correlate with lower levels of psychological distress.
As the mental health crisis among students continues to escalate, understanding these relationships is crucial. The insights gained from this study could inform interventions aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and improving mental well-being among college populations, particularly in high-altitude environments.
