In a surprising twist of fate, I find myself preparing to speak at an upcoming festival about my experiences with psychosis. The event is centered around mental health awareness, and I am slated to read excerpts from my book, Crazy for Life. However, the reality is that I do not actually have a completed book, nor do I possess any excerpts to share.
This situation has forced me to reflect on my journey and the profound impact that psychosis has had on my life. Rather than ending my career, it has redirected my path in ways I never anticipated. The struggles I faced during my mental health crisis have shaped my understanding of resilience and creativity.
While I may not have traditional content to present, I plan to speak candidly about my experiences, the lessons learned, and the importance of sharing one's story. This unexpected turn has become an opportunity for genuine connection and dialogue about mental health, which ultimately is far more valuable than any polished manuscript.
